Visual Meditations
Purify
To begin:
Begin the meditation by cleansing all old emotions and energy that may be blocking the flow at the moment. Imagine all of your impurities being completely removed as you immerse yourself in the photos. Feel the old emotions, hate, pain, and illness effortlessly wash away and be healed by the Earth.
Begin by intending to be purified in the moment. One way to do this would be to say "I am cleansed and purified" and imagine white light pouring like a waterfall through the top of your head through you. You could also place your fingers in the purification mudra position shown in the left photo below (thumb touching inner part of ring finger) or the Jala (water) mudra. Both work to purify the body, mind, and spirit.

Energize
For the active meditation
Allow the natural energies of these pictures to uplift, energize, and prepare you to send energy to others.
To really feel the energy, begin by rubbing the center of your palms and the soles of your feet to stimulate energy flow. Then you could place your feet flat on the floor and hands in the shiva linga mudra, as shown below on the left, to receive a massive boost of active energy. You can also place your hands in the Padma mudra, pictured below right, for healing heart center energy and connecting to the divine. It is powerful to make an intention in this moment to be charged with love and light. One way of doing this is to say "I am charged from head to toe with love and light and intend to spread it to others."

Transcend
For the passive meditation
Allow these soothing pictures to deeply relax you into a state of deep meditation.
Before beginning it can be beneficial to massage the jaw, followed by the neck and upper shoulder area. Then place your attention on each area of your body individually starting at the feet-focus on each toe and slowly move up to the foot, ankle, lower leg, knee, upper leg, butt, lower back muscles/abdominal region, upper back/chest area, upper shoulder, each finger, hand, forearm, elbow, upper arm, neck, and finally the head. Deeply relax and release tension in each area. An option is to place your hands in your lap in the position shown below on the left, with the right palm on top clasping the left. Placing your tongue at the middle roof of your mouth. This seals off the body's energy circuit, allowing energy to flow through your system without leaking. Another option for hand position is to place your hands into the Garuda mudra or freedom mudra, shown below on the right, to feel unlimited boundaries and to open the back side of your heart chakra.

Sacred Sounds Meditation
Certain sacred syllables correspond to the energy centers in our body. Chanting them while imagining the corresponding color is filling your body up with healing energy. Make sure to spend the same amount of time on each energy center in order to remain balanced; unless you are aware one area is under or over active, in which case it is appropriate to spend as much time with each chakra as your intention guides you to.
